Sunrise in Kasi

This post is in the series of posts dealing with the draining of colours from photographs: a process that produces interesting results. In the gallery above, there are three coloured images of the rising sun by the ghatscape of Varanasi and with them are the three black and white ones produced with the help of MS Office Picture Manager. One look at the images makes it clear that the sun loses its majesty when it loses the colour of its rays, but the effect of the silhoutted objects is definitely enhanced in the b/w images.
